• If your passport address is incorrect, update it and provide proof such as an Aadhaar Card, Parents passport copy, Parents Aadhaar card or Parents ID proof

Documents Required

1. Passport copies of applicant (Minor) (first page, last page and Valid Dependant / Long Term Social / Student / Residence visa page copy).
2. Both parents passport copies (first page and last page) Valid Employment / Dependant / Long Term Social / Student / Residence visa page copy.
3. Four photographs (2” x 2” size) with white background.
4. Online Application Form: Must be printed and submitted as a hard copy.

6. Duly filled Annexure D application form.
7. Duly filled Annexure ‘C’ application form (for single parents). Additional documents may be required. Please check with the Reception Counter, as requirements vary on a case-by-case basis.

Passport Renewal Eligibility

Passport renewal is permitted only under the following conditions:

• Passport validity is less than 1 year.
• Malaysia visa validity is less than 3 months from the date of application.
• Passport has only 2 blank pages remaining (based on printed passport page numbers).

Requirements for 2-Year Employment/Dependant Visa (Malaysia Immigration)

Applicants who wish to apply for a 2-year Employment/Dependant Visa must meet the following passport requirements:

• Passport validity must be more than 18 months.
• Passport must have a minimum of 6 blank pages available for visa processing.

Passport Renewal Under Special Requirement

If the passport does not meet the above requirements, applicants may renew their passport by providing the following:

• An official letter from the applicant’s employer/company addressed to the High Commission of India, Kuala Lumpur, clearly stating the passport renewal requirement and specifications.
• MDEC rejection proof (screenshot copy) as supporting evidence.

Once the required documents are submitted, the passport renewal can be processed accordingly.

Birth Registration for Indian Newborn

Note: Parents are required to apply for birth registration online and bring a printed copy of the application.

Applicant who holds Student Visa or Social Visa

• Letter from University or College or School (Letter Head- need to mention passport had been lost and re-issue new passport)

Applicant who holds Employment Pass

• MDEC request letter from your company is required to be submitted.

• Address proof such as bank statements from India, utility bills, or Aadhaar card must be submitted.
• A letter addressed to the High Commission of India requesting a change of address. Please mention the address proof and the documents attached with the request.

If the applicant requests to change the passport address to a Malaysian address (Required Documents).

• Hard copy of Malaysian address proof under the applicant’s name must be submitted.
• For Indian police verification, one address proof must be submitted. An Aadhaar copy of the applicant’s relative is also accepted.
• A letter addressed to the High Commission of India stating the relationship between the applicant and the Aadhaar card holder must be submitted. The letter should also include an undertaking taking full responsibility for the police verification process in India.

Endorsement of Spouse Name in The Passport

If You Are Married to a Malaysian (Required Documents):

• Marriage certificate. If the certificate is in Bahasa Malaysia, it must be translated into English.
• The English translated copy must be certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Malaysia.
• Please submit the original document along with a copy of the marriage certificate and a copy of your spouse’s IC.
• If the marriage certificate is in dual language (Bahasa Malaysia and English), translation is not required. Only certification by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Malaysia is needed for the dual-language certificate.

If You Are Married to an Indian Citizen (Required Documents):

• The spouse’s name must be shown on the last page of the passport.
• Submit the original marriage certificate and a copy of your spouse’s passport.
• If both passports do not show the spouse’s name, the Indian marriage certificate must be attested by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) in New Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad, or Kolkata.
• Alternatively, you may submit a printed screenshot of the online marriage verification from the official government website (with the website link visible at the top) together with your spouse’s passport copy.
